Pariah pariah, coal on cat!  2021

black Lego, cat fur, wood, paint, 30 x 20 x 20cm.

As the Anthropocene looks to clean up its act, it is important to remember where we have come from, how we got here, and "what in favour now, will later fall foul?” And “How [,] do we make use of what has been done, without being trapped by the means of how we did it?” - economist, Anwar Shaikh.

The lego speaks of this conundrum. Its materiality, a tautology: a by-product of industry re-presenting itself; the effect of a moral landscape on the natural one.

The cat was road-kill, uncollared, with a belly-full of Whiskas.
